Northwest Missouri State caught fire from three-point range Saturday afternoon and ran Missouri Western out of the building in a 63-49 win.

The Bearcats (6-9) pull the season sweep of the Griffons for the first time since 2011. The first matchup was a 51-50 nailbiter in St. Joseph. Round two was not as dramatic.

Northwest trailed 14-13 at the end of the first quarter, but then began hitting from deep. The 'Cats were 6-12 from three in the second and took a nine-point lead into halftime.

Both offenses struggled to find a rhythm in the third quarter, but a Jillian Fleming putback bucket just before the end of the period sparked Northwest.

The 'Cats went on a 14-3 run that stretched into the first two minutes of the fourth quarter and opened an 18-point lead.

Northwest finished with a flurry of threes, going 6-9 in the fourth quarter.

For the game, the Bearcats were 17-41 marking a new program-high for three-point attempts in a single game.

Mallory McConkey put up her second career double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Jaelyn Haggard had 15 points on 5-11 shooting from deep.

Fleming also hit double figures with eight of her 10 points coming in the second half.

Northwest is home once again Thursday to face Pittsburg State. Game time is 5:30pm with pregame beginning at 5pm on KXCV 90.5 and KRNW 88.9.
